Road
The Town of Swan River is the northern anchor to Highway #83. It is the longest highway in North America and is known as the Palm to Pine Route. From the east and north, Highway #10 provides ready access to the community and to northern Manitoba.
Air
Located 1/2 mile east of the Town, an airport and two runways are jointly maintained by local municipalities. The main runway, taxi way and parking apron are paved and lit. This runway is 3,935′ x 100′ and is used regularly for charter and medical transport flights. The second runway is 1,957′ x 75′ (850′ paved and 1,107′ graded). Swan Valley Municipal Airport
Rail
Rail lines used for transporting freight, commodities and manufactured products are present in the Swan Valley region with a junction line in the Town’s Industrial Park.
Trucking
The Town is served by several trucking companies who transport goods and materials between the Swan Valley and locations throughout North America. A multi-million dollar highway development project is currently underway south of the Swan Valley region. Once completed, this will provide the area with an additional RTAC classification highway for transportation via heavy truck.

Taxis
Handi-Van
For those who have special transportation needs, the Town of Swan River Handi-Van can accommodate five to nine ambulatory and two wheelchair passengers. This service runs from Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Please call 204-734-4586 to book the van. Booking at least 24 hours in advance is required. Service is available on weekends if requests are placed by the Friday before.
