PROVINCE INDICATES INCREASED FLOOD RISK FOR SWAN RIVER
April 30, 2026 FLOOD RISK – REMAINS ON WATCH Swan River, Manitoba – Water levels continue to decrease but conditions remain dynamic, and monitoring continues. Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure and the Emergency Management Organization continue to report any significant changes to the Town through our Emergency Coordinator. Experts continue to monitor the runoff as snow continues to melt, and they are also paying attention to an ice jam remaining approximately 6 km upstream from Swan River. This advisory is not intended to indicate an expected negative outcome, but rather to acknowledge that some uncertainty remains as conditions evolve. Continued monitoring and general vigilance are recommended, particularly for residents living near the river and in low‑lying areas.
